Former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi will continue to be the President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) following the withdrawal of a no-confidence motion from BJP leader Amin Pathan against him. RCA vice-president Pathan withdrew the motion, after a nine-month period of ousting Modi through no-confidence motion.

Pathan’s withdrawal was in the interest of cricket in Rajasthan" and took place in front of retired Justice Gyan Sudha Mishra. On Wednesday 11 am, Justice Mishra may make an announcement regarding the formal withdrawal of the motion.

After the withdrawal of the motion, Modi tweeted that, "I once again look forward to making #RCA the best and most forward thinking."

According to a BCCI official, the return from Modi as President will not change anything until as the RCA will remain suspended as long as the team is associated with him. The official also added that board has nothing to foresee a role for Modi in near future.

In 2013, the former IPL commissioner was expelled from the Indian Cricket Board and was banned for life time on indiscipline and misconduct charges.

The BJP minority cell president Pathan said to the Indian Express that, "Cricket had stopped in the districts and players were suffering because of that. Plus, we couldn't get the required numbers. These guys (the Modi faction) are used to litigation so they would have stretched it forever. So we decided to withdraw our motion in the interest of cricket."
