Bluff, lie, hoax! The love affair of Simbu and Hansika Motwani was nothing but a sham, says industry insiders.

It was a publicity gimmick, if sources are to be believed.

The sudden declaration of love in Twitter last year took everyone by surprise. Unlike other peers, who keep their private lives guarded and away from media speculation, Simbu and Hansika openly proclaimed their affection for each other. At the same time, they asked the paparazzi to give them space and not meddle much into their personal lives, which they obliged.

However, every now and then, the fans were treated to leaked personal photos of the duo clubbing, dating, or partying. What's surprising that nobody ever claimed any responsibility for it.

Six months after they started dating, reports of their break up hit gossip headlines, in November 2013. While the actors clearly evaded all question on their personal lives, Hansika dropped hints of their break up in February 2014. That she spent her Valentine's Day with friends partying all night further fueled all speculations on her being single.

Couple of weeks later, Simbu announced that they had split and that he was happily single again.

This news came as a shocker to industry insiders who accuse the actors for using their alleged love affair as a gimmick to boost the hype around their forthcoming releases “Vettai Mannan” and “Vaalu”.
