Music director and singer Bappi Lahiri will join the BJP on Friday evening in all probability. The saffron party has confirmed that the top leaders of BJP are indeed considering Lahiri's candidature, according to reports.

However, the 'king of disco' is not speaking on the issue. The 61-year-old music director from Kolkata has been residing in Mumbai for more than four decades.

As of now, it's unclear that he will contest or not. If he does, will he contest from Kolkata or Mumbai, or that he might just campaign for the BJP all over India.

In 2004, the saffron party had inducted many popular names from the entertainment industry before the Lok Sabha elections. But the BJP was defeated and lost power at the centre. According to reports, in the next two months BJP will induct filmi personalities into the party to try the experiment again.
