Much have been talked about Narendra Modi's Gujarat model of development. But does the development that Modi claims for Gujarat actually exist? Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday stated that the claims of the Gujarat chief minister are just an election gimmick.
Kejriwal was addressing a rally at Nagpur prior to the Lok Sabha elections where he dismissed Modi's claims of development in Gujarat. The 45-year-old AAP founder said that he would like to see for himself what Modi claims about Gujarat during his visit to the state next week from March 5 to 8.
At the Kanpur rally Kejriwal dismissed the talks about 'Modi wave' saying that the entire phenomena has been created by the media. The wave exists only in the media and and there is no such thing, he said.
Kejriwal stated that when the party left Delhi he and his colleagues had heard of 'Modi wave' and thought of finding out about it. The AAP leaders met hundreds of people and they all said there is no such thing, said the former Delhi Chief Minister.
The AAP leader spared no words in attacking the BJP during its election campaign at Kanpur. Kejriwal spent a lot of time accusing the BJP of using religious sentiments for electoral gains. He raked up the issue of Babri mosque demolition in Ayodhya in 1992 that BJP had alluded and came to the national forefront.
Even the Congress was not spared by Kejriwal, which accused the party for its pro-corporate inclination like the saffron party.
According to the Kejriwal, only the AAP would give a clean government to the people of India. The AAP chief was conident of winning at least 100 seats in the general elections.
