Robbers have stolen the huge quantity of around 12 kg of jewellery from the Bank of Baroda in Gundarapalli. According to preliminary report the burglars entered bank through an adjacent house, which is also a property of the bank, was unoccupied for quite some.

The bank works got suspended for detailed enquiry for clues and reasons. Superintendent of Police, Kannammal and his team is investigating in bank premises for any information or hints of the robbery. However, as of Saturday afternoon, no details of the bank robbery and robbers have come into light.

According to media reports, it is presumed that close to 12 kg (1,500 sovereigns) of jewellery could have been taken away by the burglars.

Public, who have mortgaged their jewellery and valuable items with the bank, gathered around the branch, and demanded for their jewellery, and the police cordoned off the area.

Gundarapalli branch, located some 20km from Krishnagiri, bordering Andhra Pradesh.
