A 'Media Pathshala', is going to be convened on Monday, by the information and broadcasting (I&B) ministry to bridge the information gap between the government and media. The day-long workshop is likely to concentrate on the dissemination practices existing in media and the needed way of passing the authentic and clear information from the government bodies.

The ministry felt that there is no enough link or communication between officials of various ministries and officials of the Press Information Bureau, which is leading to inappropriate coverage or to misrepresentation. At the ‘Media Pathshala’ I&B Minister Arun Jaitley and cabinet secretary Ajit Seth set to address the audience.

"The workshop is meant to ensure better harmony within the government departments,'' I&B secretary Bimal Julka said. The ministry may also seek powerful and potential advises on how to use social media to convey the government’s policies and developments. Apart from the experts of print and social media, four secretaries from sectors of infrastructure, social and economic sectors will be asked to give presentations to explain the flagship schemes and their successes or lacunae. These include DIPP secretary Amitabh Kant, coal secretary Anil Swaroop, financial services secretary Hasmukh Adhia and WCD secretary V S Oberoi.

However, some of the media groups and analysts are thinking this will improve the flow of information in a right direction, while some are quoting this move as an autocratic and dominative approach to teach the methods.
