Corporate espionage in Oil and Petroleum ministry has resulted in the leak of important documents. A web portal owner and a former journalist Santanu Saikia, has been arrested in connection with the leak of classified documents from the petroleum ministry to corporates.

He allegedly worked as a middleman between the ministerial employees and corporate companies. Prayas Jain, an energy consultant operating a Melbourne-based company has also been arrested.

According to media reports Reliance Industries executive and officials have quizzed for further details. It is also learnt that police have raided the offices of a few companies and seized documents and hard drives.

A Reliance Industries official said to media, "We are unaware of more details. An internal probe is underway as per our robust internal standards."

The suspects in the case have reportedly used fake IDs and government stickers on vehicles. "One of them forged an ID card and also got himself government stickers on his vehicles," said Delhi Police Chief BS Bassi.

BJP government has done secret operation to find out the suspects and internal thefts since May last year.
