Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit in Delhi is following Pakistan's intelligence ISI orders, said BJP leader Ravinder Raina. He made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested for an immediate shut down of the Pakistan High Commission without any further delay.
"Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani is anti-India and Headley's deposition has exposed Pakistan entirely as Whatever the ISI wants, only that happens in Pakistan. Somewhere, even Basit is working at the behest of the ISI. We won't tolerate this. I see a conspiracy behind this meeting. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. I will request the Centre to take stern action," Raina told
"The meeting is unfortunate. Everyone knows the role of Syed Ali Shah Geelani in Jammu for the last 25-30 years. He is an agent of Pakistan. He is responsible for many murders and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir," he added.
“I met Abdul Basit, the Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi, and discussed issues including reports that Gilgit-Baltistan is being merged with Pakistan. The Pakistan High Commissioner clarified to me that there is no change in Islamabad’s policy on the issue and that Gilgit-Baltistan would continue to remain the fifth region of the disputed Jammu and Kashmir,” Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said.
Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit visited Kashmiri separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani in Delhi. The hardliner separatist's health and views on Kashmir were at the centre of the discussion, said sources in the Pakistani government. The diplomat "assured him that Pakistan will continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and their legitimate right of self-determination," said a statement from the high commission.
"Geelani sahib told Basit that holding dialogue takes off the attention of the atrocities committed by Indian forces on Kashmiris. Make the Kashmir dispute core agenda of any dialogue with India," Geelani's spokesman Ayaz Akbar said.
"India is not sincere in the talks and the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. Talks are a time pass for India. Had India been sincere, it would have accepted Kashmir as a dispute and would not call it an integral part," Akbar quoted Geelani as having told Basit.
