Indian-American Lawmakers protest on decision on ending Permits for H1 spouses

Washington:
Top Indian- American Senators, belonging to the Democratic Party have strongly opposed the decision taken by Trump administration, scrapping the Obama rule by objecting permits to H1 B spouses, to work legally in the United States.

As per the earlier reports it is clearly evident that, the Trump’s administration is trying hard to put an end to the immigrants, in all the ways possible. The recent plans to propose the regulation that makes hard for the spouses of H1B VISA holders, to work legally in the United States. This could lead to a devastating impact on hundreds of thousands of Indian- American Citizens.

The plan of Donald J Trump, to end the Obama rule could have huge impact on more than 70,000 H4 VISA holders, who have work permits.

In a event organized by US India Friendship Council at US Capitol, a NRI Congress women Pramila Jayakumar, said that "I will say that the H-4 visas go to women who are just as qualified, sometimes more qualified, than their spouses but haven't been able to work,"

Jaypal is well known to be, first Indian American woman to get elected to the House of Representatives, she added saying that she strongly opposes the move to terminate work permits to H4 Visas. She also emphasized the issue relating to the gender discrimination, with a fact that a significantly large number of beneficiaries H4 work permits belonged to women.
