Telangana was originally supposed to hold its assembly elections in May 2019 together with the Lok Sabha elections. However, caretaker chief minister KCR, who heads the TRS, dissolved the assembly in September 2018, forcing an early election to be held in the state.
Voter Turnout
Around 70 percent of 2.8 voters cast their vote in the assembly election as the polling ended on a peaceful note, excepting trivial incidents.
The counting of votes is scheduled to take place on December 11.
