Delhi is one of the cities where people choose metro to travel within the city. Hence, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is planning for effective social distancing.

Social distancing must follow strictly to control the virus infection. In most of the cities, metro is the highly used transport medium. Knowing the role of metro in the city, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has come up with the social distancing idea with the “Do not sit here” stickers.

Though the dates of metro resumption are not yet provided but gave an idea on Saturday how social distancing is going to be in the metro coaches. This work is in progress, while the nationwide lockdown phase is going on.

The metro services will continue to be shut till the end of this month as per the lockdown rules.

In a digital press meet, Delhi CM kejriwal said, “The coronavirus is here to stay. We need to live our lives with corona now. And the lockdown cannot be permanent. So far we have used the lockdown period to prepare ourselves — hospital beds, ventilators, PPE (personal protective equipment), testing kits, etc…Now is the time to revive the economy.”

Kejriwal also spoke about the cab services like Ola and Uber to resume. The cabs are only allowed to run with a maximum of two passengers and a driver. The same rule is to be followed by the private cars. And buses will be allowed to run with maximum 20 passengers in one vehicle.

Kejriwal said, “Drivers must maintain the buses clean by sanitizing the seats after passengers deboard.”
