The second wave of coronavirus is slowly calming down and the country is left with a lot of stress due to the battle that was horrible in the months of April and May. The health experts warned of a possible third wave of coronavirus in October this year. Now the Delta Plus variant is creating ripples across India as the cases of Delta Plus are traced in the country. The Delta variant mutated further into Delta Plus. This is known as AY.1 variant or B.1.617. As per the Health Experts, Delta Plus is named as the most dangerous variant of coronavirus. The new cases of Delta Plus are traced in three states of the country: Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh. Rajesh Tope, the Health Minister of Maharashtra said that they have found 21 cases of the Delta Plus variant.

The government of Maharashtra decided to go ahead with genome sequencing and the officials are collecting 100 samples from each district. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research’s (CSIR) Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) is taking care of the process. A total number of 7500 samples are collected in the state from the past one month and 21 cases of Delta Plus variant are found. In Kerala, the Delta Plus variant is found in the districts of Palakkad and Pathanamth. Stringent measures are taken to prevent further spread. A case of Delta Plus variant is traced in Madhya Pradesh in a 65-year-old woman in Bhopal. Reports said that four people in Shivpuri district are infected with the Delta Plus variant and all of them have taken the vaccination shots.
