Moderna producing anti-bodies against Delta Variant, soon to be imported to India

The Delta variant of coronavirus is freaking the world. The Health experts warned of a possible third wave of coronavirus in most of the country. Moderna announced that the vaccine shot produced protective antibodies against the Delta variant. The researchers of Moderna tested the blood samples of eight people and traced that they produced antibodies against all the tested variants. Indian pharma company Cipla received approval to import Moderna vaccine for restricted emergency use in India. After Covishield, Covaxin and Sputnik, Moderna is the fourth vaccine to be available in the Indian market.
The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) granted permission for emergency usage of Moderna as per the provisions of the New Drugs and Clinical Trial Rules, 2019 under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. Cipla has to submit the safety assessment in a week about the first beneficiaries who will take the vaccination shot of coronavirus. Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) responded on a positive note for importing the Moderna vaccine to India through Cipla. Delta plus variant is traced in India and is the mutation of Delta. The Delta Plus variant is traced in countries like UK, Portugal, Switzerland, Poland, Japan, Nepal, China, and Russia along with India. Moderna informed the Drugs Controller General of India that the government of USA agreed to donate a number of doses through COVAX to India and they are waiting for the approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation.
