No Death Toll Reported In Manipur In the Last Two Days

At least 54 people were killed and many properties were damaged in Manipur after the violence broke out between Meitei and Kulki communities. The public was shifted were safer places. Supreme Court on Monday heard a plea from SIT probe into Manipur violence. Apex Court showed their concern over the violence and asked to take immediate action on rescue and rehabilitation of the people. SC also directed to take necessary precautions at relief camps to ensure food and medical support. Court also asked the Centre and state governments to file the status report in the coming ten days.

Because of the undergoing situation, most of the states including Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have arranged special flights to bring back their residents to their states. Andhra Pradesh has identified around 150 students until now, who are studying in NIT, IIIT and Agricultural universities in the state. The Ministry of civil aviation has accepted the request of the state governments and special flights have been arranged to Hyderabad and Vijayawada.

Around in 10 districts of Manipur law and order issues raised. The issue started after the march took place in the state against making the Meitei community demand adding their community to the Scheduled Tribe community, which is 53% of the state's population.
