Cyclone Biparjoy will hit Gujarat on June 15th according to Indian Metrological Department (IMD) predictions. Western Railways as a precautionary measure cancelled 67 trains and short originated 43 trains. The intensity of the cyclone was decreased, even though the government continued their measures. Biparjoy has dipped from an extremely severe cyclone to a very severe cyclone.

Officials are worried because Cyclone Biparjoy has become the longest-lifespan cyclone in the Arabian Sea, according to IMD. It will also be the third cyclone to hit the western state since 1965.

Cyclone Biparjoy will enter Rajasthan on June 16th. Jaipur Metrological Centra in charge Radhe Shyam Sharma said there will be heavy rains with thunderstorms in Jodhpur and Udaipur regions from June 15th.

Meanwhile, Narendra Modi has organized a high-level review meeting with the Rajasthan and Gujarat officials regarding Cyclone Biparjoy. Gujarat Senior officials have explained to the PM that they have already evacuated people living in vulnerable locations. The PM directed state government officials to take care of essential services such as health, drinking water, telecommunications and other measures that are to be taken care of. National disaster response force (NDRF) teams deployed to Gujarat as a precautionary measure against the cyclone.
