Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, experienced a mishap while boarding a helicopter in Durgapur, resulting in minor injuries. As she ascended the mobile stairs towards the chopper, she stumbled and lost her balance just as she was about to take a seat inside. Fortunately, her security personnel promptly provided assistance, and she proceeded with her planned trip to Asansol. Earlier this year, Banerjee was hospitalized after a fall near her residence, which resulted in a visible cut on her forehead.

Additionally, in June 2023, she suffered ligament injuries to her left knee and hip joint when her helicopter had to make an emergency landing due to unfavorable weather conditions. After the incident, she traveled with Banerjee and shared with PTI. She then flew to Kulti and spoke at a rally to show her support for TMC's candidate in Asansol, Shatrughan Sinha.
