Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Saturday that in a world fraught with conflict, yoga provides a sense of tranquility and serves as the essential "pause button" urgently needed at this time. He emphasized that yoga transcends borders, demographics, ages, and abilities, bringing people together globally as he spearheaded the celebration of the 11th International Yoga Day in Visakhapatnam. "Let this Yoga Day represent the start of Yoga for humanity 2.0, where global strategies prioritize inner peace. May today usher in a new era of worldwide harmony," he expressed.
The 11th International Yoga Day, observed by numerous nations on June 21, carries the theme 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health.' During his address, PM Modi noted that millions have embraced yoga, explaining its capacity to highlight our interconnectedness. "Yoga symbolizes one Earth, one health, shifting our focus from individuality to collective existence. India is extending its healing touch to the globe," he remarked.

He urged people to transform yoga into a movement and to begin each day with yoga practice to attain equilibrium and tranquility. He articulated that yoga guides us toward a collective identity with the world. "Reflecting on the past decade of yoga's journey, I recall the moment India proposed the resolution in the UN General Assembly to declare June 21 as International Yoga Day. In no time, our nation had the support of 175 countries. Such unity in today's time is truly remarkable," he stated.
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), operating under the Ministry of External Affairs, is coordinating various yoga activities in 191 nations to commemorate this occasion, with over 2,000 events planned across 1,300 venues. In Delhi, festivities will take place at Jantar Mantar, Qutub Minar, Purana Quila, and Humayun’s Tomb, while similar 'Yoga Bandhan' events will be held at notable sites in cities like Lucknow, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bhopal, Gwalior, and elsewhere, she mentioned.
