President Droupadi Murmu, during her speech the night before Independence Day, stated that Operation Sindoor — India's quick reaction to the terror incident in Pahalgam — will be remembered as an important milestone in the battle against terrorism. In her Thursday speech to the country, President Murmu labeled the terror attack on innocent people in Pahalgam in April as “cowardly and completely inhumane.” She remarked that India’s response through Operation Sindoor was executed “with determination and strong resolve.” “Operation Sindoor demonstrated that our military is ready to handle any situation regarding the protection of the country,” President Murmu mentioned, adding that it would “be remembered as a vital part of humanity’s struggle against terrorism.” She emphasized that India reacted “with unity” following the Pahalgam terror attack, which was “the best response to those who aimed to create divisions among us.”
President Murmu pointed out that “the world has noticed India's position that while we will not be the aggressors, we also won't hesitate to defend our citizens if needed.” The President further referred to the operation as “a practical example of the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative in the defense field,” mentioning that “the results have shown we are heading in the right direction.”
