The Presidential election took place across the nation on July 16th and the counting commenced today. NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu received the support of 44 regional parties across the country along with the NDA alliance. Droupadi Murmu is a way ahead of Yashwant Sinha supported by the opposition parties. Droupadi Murmu is all set to take the oath as the first tribal President of the country and create a sensation. Out of the 1138 MLAs who voted, Droupadi Murmu got 809 votes and Yashwant Sinha got 329 votes. The value of the votes is said to be 1.49 lakh and Droupadi Murmu got 1.05 lakhs while Sinha got 44,276. Droupadi Murmu has more than 70 percent of the votes till now and it is almost official about her taking the President's chair.

The people of Rairangpur in Odisha already started celebrating. They prepared 20,000 sweets and a tribal dance is planned after the results are declared. The counting started at 1:30 PM in the Parliament House and the ballot boxes are counted from 11 AM. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Droupadi Murmu in Teen Murti Marg to congratulate her after the results are declared officially. The BJP leaders of New Delhi planned a roadshow with Droupadi Murmu. She will take the oath on July 25th, the day after Ramnath Kovind's tenure ends.
