Nitish Kumar took his oath as a member of Rajya Sabha on Friday, indicating that he will soon leave the state government, which will pave the way for a new government to be set up in Bihar. The oath was given by the chairman of Rajya Sabha, CP Radhakrishnan, in his office during a short ceremony. Several important political figures were present at the event, including Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary, BJP president JP Nadda, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, among others. JDU leader and working president Sanjay Kumar Jha, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, and BJP MP and former union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy were also there for the oath-taking.

The NDA is expected to choose a new chief minister for Bihar on April 14. The day before starting his new position, Kumar visited the national capital and confirmed that he would resign as Chief Minister shortly. When discussing his choice, he told journalists that he believed he had finished much of his work in Bihar and now wanted to concentrate on his duties in Delhi.

"I have done a lot in Bihar. Now I think I should focus on my responsibilities here," Kumar stated. He continued, "I will leave my position there and work here. I will resign in three or four days. New people will be chosen as Chief Minister and Ministers. " Nitish Kumar has been the longest-serving Chief Minister of Bihar. He began his political career as an MLA in 1985 and later served as a Union Minister under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee administration. Nitish Kumar first became Bihar's Chief Minister in 2005. He is one of the most seasoned and senior political figures in the nation.
