Raj Thackeray, the chief of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), on Thursday stated that Narendra Modi should have resigned as the CM of Gujarat after being named the BJP's prime ministerial candidate. Thackeray was speaking at a press conference in Nashik, when he said that a PM has to serve the whole country and not just his home state, reported IBN-Lokmat.

The MNS chief said that he admired Modi's efforts on development in Gujarat, and added that now Modi's focus should shift from Gujarat to entire India. He also hit out at the Gujarat CM for speaking about Sardar Patel's statue and the Gujarati community in Mumbai, while questioning Modi as to why he did not talk of Shivaji Maharaj.
