As the debate on intolerance and cow slaughter continues, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat, who is even the senior Congress leader, said couple of days back that Cow killers have "no right to live in the country". He called the Cow killers as the biggest enemies of the country.

Rawat said while addressing a function in Haridwar that, "Anyone who kills cows, no matter which community he belongs to, is India's biggest enemy and has no right to live in the country." The CM spoke while addressing a function in the holy city on the occasion of Gopashtami.

According to the CM, his government already passed proposal against cow slaughter and even claimed that the only state in the country that gives is land for cowsheds as well as aid in the arrangement of feeder Uttarakhand.

No congress leader responded so far to statement from Rawat, in the wake of his stand clear against the party since lynching of a Muslim man over beef in Uttar Pradesh rose a massive sparring on cow protection. Congress led protest from the opposition against the controversial statements from the BJP leaders as well as its affiliate organizations over cow slaughter.
