Hollywood director Steven Spielberg has become the most influential celebrity on Forbes list in the United States, by dethroning media mogul Oprah Winfrey. The 67-year-old director's influence increased after the release of his film 'Lincoln' which got 12 Oscar nominations in 2012, which included best direction and best picture. The movie's box office collection was $275 million globally.
Forbes magazine said 'Lincoln' had collected $93 million in foreign countries. Spielberg's creative skill in attracting a foreign audience to the politics in Washington during the 19th century is a reflection of his influence, said the magazine.
In fact, 47% of respondents categorized Steven Spielberg as influential, stated Forbes magazine.
