Oprah Winfrey will co-produce a film with Brad Pitt, titled "Selma". The 59-year-old said that the movie will be based on Martin Luther King's life, contactmusic.com reported.
The chat show host stated that David Oyelowo will feature in the role of Martin Luther King in the upcoming film.
Based in 1965, the movie revolves around a group of black marchers who set out to acquire the right to vote by walking from Selma in Alabama, to Montgomery. Problem starts when the group find themselves in confrontation with the police. The protesters made three attempts before finally making the journey, with the number of marchers increasing each time.
Oprah Winfrey seems to be foraying into movies as the chat host is also producing DreamWorks' 'The Hundred-Foot Journey'. Earlier she had played the role of Oyelowo's mother in 'The Butler' by Lee Daniels.
