On Friday, Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, has greeted Pakistan on the occasion of its Independence Day. The wishes from PM came amid chill between both the countries, which rose due to recent attacks in Punjab and J&K.

Modi tweeted, "Greetings & good wishes to the people of Pakistan on their Independence Day.”

Notwithstanding the chill, the Prime Minister tweeted best wishes to the neighboring country. Recently, chill arose between the countries due to Gurdaspur terror attacks in Punjab and Udhampur terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

The terrorists had penetrated from Pakistan to strike these two places, while one of the terrorist was caught alive. The single Pak terrorist who was caught alive after an attack on BSF convoy that was travelling on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Udhampur district, was identified as Mohammed Naved from Faisalabad, Pakistan.

Another blow to the relations between the countries came when Pakistan declined to invite J&K assembly speaker to a conference of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. This refusal from Pakistan was in response to decision from India to boycott the meet to be held in Islamabad from September 30 to October 8.
