On Tuesday, August 25, 2015 a junior commissioned officer (JCO) of Army was killed in Pakistan cease fire violation near LoC in Nowgam sector of Kashmir. Pakistani troops carried out cross-LoC firing by Pakistani troops in Kupwara district of Kashmir.
According to an army spokesman in Srinagar, a Pakistan spinner hit the JCO near the LoC in Nowgam sector and succumbed to injuries thereafter. Violating ceasefire over again, Pakistan troops resorted to firing on forward positions in the sector around 1pm. The identity of the JCO is yet to be revealed by the spokesman.
Pak’s 245 violations of border ceasefire agreement in 2015
Pakistan Rangers resorted to three rounds of firing on August 19, on a BoP along IB in Samba sector around 2230 hours. However, there was no casualty or injury to anyone.
Pak has violated the border ceasefire agreement of 200352 times in August and more than 245 ceasefire violations in 2015 till now.
The latest incident follows the call off of the NSA talks with India by Pakistan. According to understanding reached between Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif in Ufa, Russia, the NSA talks are meant to discuss about terrorism issue.
