Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Theresa May on becoming the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. She is the second female British prime minister after Margaret Hilda Thatcher.

PM Modi tweeted that, “Congratulations to @theresa_may on taking over as the new UK PM. Looking forward to working with her for stronger India-UK ties @Number10gov.”

Mr. Modi said that, he was looking forward to work with her for stronger Indo-UK ties.

He also thanked former prime minister David Cameron for the contributions he made during his tenure as prime minister.
