Arvind Kejriwal alleges Judges’ phones are tapped

In another shoot and scoot drama Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Admi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal has alleged that Judge’s phones are tapped, without producing any evidence. Kejriwal made his remarks at an event to mark 50 years of Delhi High Court where the ministers from both the Central and state government were present.

“I heard that judges’ phones are being tapped and they are afraid to talk. This is wrong and must not be allowed,” said Kejriwal at the event where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present.

While speaking after Kejriwal, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has strongly denied the allegation that Judges phones were being tapped. “I wish to deny, with all the authority at my command, that the phones of judges have been tapped in India at all,” said Prasad.

Earlier, Chief Justice TS Thakur slammed the government over the delay in the procedure of the appointment of judges for which the Supreme Court has not yet approved the MoP. “Executive inaction is decimating the judiciary,” he had said.
