Bharat Biotech developed a vaccine for coronavirus named Covaxin and the manufacturing process is happening at a fast pace to meet the demand in the country. The pharma giant has been receiving backlash in some of the states. Bharat Biotech also announced that they would be distributing Covaxin to some of the states directly. Bharat Biotech's Joint Managing Director Suchitra Ella announced that 50 of their employees are tested positive for coronavirus. Some of the netizens questioned about how could Bharat Biotech stay without vaccinating their staff.
Suchitra Ella tweeted "Quite disheartening to the teams to hear some states complaining about our intentions. 50 of our employees are off work due to covid, yet we continue to work under pandemic lockdowns 24x7 for U". Some of the twitter users thanked Bharat Biotech for their efforts and they lauded the efficiency of the vaccine. Suchitra Ella said that 18 Indian states received the vaccination for coronavirus in smaller shipments. New Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha, Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Telangana, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and West Bengal are the states that would receive Covaxin.
