Have you ever wondered why you have not been able to give up on your favourite ice cream or coke? The answer is addiction. Most junk foods contain high amount of sugar, fat and salt. Despite knowing they are unhealthy food we are not able to give up on them, as they give us addictive pleasures. Here are a few addictive unhealthy food items.
Potato chips contain high dose of salt and fat. Every bite of the greasy potato chip send signals to the brain via nerve endings that travel to the brain's pleasure center. Once the pleasure center is satiated we stop. But it will crash soon and then we crave for more potato chips. The addiction continues.
Processed baked goods
When you eat cookies just one does not suffice. Recent studies have revealed an ingredient in various baked goods. They have been found to be high on fructose corn syrup, which actually produce reactions found to be similar in drug abuse.
Ice cream is made of calories, fat, sugar, and high-fructose corn syrup, which is often found to be addictive.
Soda with caffeine
Soda when combined with sugar or high-fructose corn syrup, and caffeine becomes an addictive recipe.
