The chiefs of the so called Janata Parivar parties have formally decided to name the new front or party as 'Samajwadi Janata Party' for tackling the wave and hype of PM Modi and his party BJP. The new group will be formed by six parties JD(U), RJP, SP,INLD, SJP and JD(S).
The leaders of the parties Nitish Kumar, Sharad Yadav, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav, HD Deve Gowda, and others have agreed to make the SP chief as the president of this new front and he will be heading the party in Lok Sabha and JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav will lead the front in Rajya Sabha.
According to the media reports, the party symbol was not finalized though some wanted to carry with the SP’s symbol of bicycle. Red and green colour flag is likely to be made as the new front’s flag or jenda.
The newly floated party will showcase the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar as their candidate in upcoming Bihar elections. The group is eying for majority mandate by the people of Bihar legislative assembly elections.
After the complete formation, new party by these outfits will have 15 members in Lok Sabha, 30 in Rajya Sabha. Among all the six parties SP is having highest share in both the houses in parliament. The Bihar election will work as the litmus test for UP elections that are scheduled in 2017.
As the leaders of some of these parties struck in corruption charges and some are even spending time in jails, the group survival with unity and equal priority is a big challenge ahead. Amit Shah has taken on the new out-fit before formation as “Zero plus zero is zero”.
The name reportedly chosen by the Janata Parivar resembles former PM Chandra Shekar’s Samajwadi Janata Party (Rashtriya), which was founded in 1990.
