India Successfully Test-fires Nuclear-capable K-4 Ballistic Missile on Friday

India has successfully test- fired the K- 4 nuclear- capable submarine- launched ballistic missile off the coast of Visakhapatnam on Friday.

The test- firing is said to be done for the second time in the past five days, in a major milestone to augment its strategical arsenal and delivery systems.

Prior to the test- firing that has been done on 24th of January, Friday, the test- firing of the K-4 submarine- launched ballistic missile which is nuclear- capable and has the strike range of 3,500 lm was done on 19th of January, Sunday

The officials have said that the missile that has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is said to have a range of 3,500 km which is capable of bringing almost all the parts of Pakistan and several areas of China within its reach.

The development of the missile is being made in order to integrate with the Arihant class nuclear submarines of India.

K-4 is one of the two underwater missiles that have been developed by India for its submarine force. The missile other than K- 4 that India has developed for its submarine force is the BO- 5 which has the strike range of over 700- kilometers.

The officials have said that the missile has been test- fired successfully for the second time in the past five days off the coast of Visakhapatnam. The officials have also added saying that the missile has been test- fired from an underwater platform.

The strategic weapons of India are being steadily enhanced which also included the Agni 5 which is a successful test- firing of the nuclear- capable inter- continental ballistic missile. The missile Agni % is said to have a range of 5,000km.

India has conducted a successful night trial of ‘Agni II’ which is a surface- to- surface nuclear- capable missile in November. The Agni- II missile is said to be of medium range with the strike range of 2000km.
