Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have both been tested positive as being infected by the deadly novel coronavirus, said the US actor on Wednesday.

The actor Tom Hanks of 63 years of age has said that he and his wife Rita Wilson have come down with fever in Australia, where he has been set to film a new movie which is said to be about the life Elvis Presley.

The actor has written in a statement which has been posted in his Instagram handle that they have been tested for the coronavirus as it is extremely necessary to be cautious in the world that this point of time amidst the coronavirus outbreak and that they have been tested positive as being infected for the deadly novel coronavirus.

Tom Hanks is said to be the first Hollywood star to state publicly that he and his wife have been infected by the deadly novel coronavirus which has been officially named as COVID-19.

He has added saying that he would keep the world updated about his health.

The Elvis film which has been directed by Baz Luhrmann is said to feature Tom Hanks as the legendary singer’s longtime manager Colonel Tom Parker.

It has also been said that the film of the Warner Bros was in a pre- production on the Gold Coast when the actor Tom Hanks has been diagnosed and therefore the film has been halted while the situation was being monitored.
