A total number of 16678 new cases of coronavirus are reported in India in the last 24 hours and the total reached 4,36,39,329. There are 1,30,713 active cases of coronavirus in the country as per the official reports from the Union Health Ministry. The total number of people who recovered completely from coronavirus are 4,29,83,162. With 26 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the total death toll climbed to 5,25,454. The total number of tests conducted for coronavirus till date in India are 86,68,88,980 and the total tests conducted yesterday are 2,78,266.

The total number of vaccination doses given for the Indians in total as per the official records are said to be 1,98,88,77,537 and the doses given yesterday are said to be 11,44,145. With the sudden rise in the new cases of coronavirus, the schools are asked to shut in West Bengal. There is a rise of 3,662 new cases in the active cases. The daily positivity rate is reported at 4.22 percent and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.08 percent. The fatality rate is 1.20 percent. The total number of active cases reported in India are 0.30 percent of the total reported cases in the country. The recovery rate is at 98.50 percent. Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal continued to report a high number of cases in India.
