According to reports, 41 lakh devotees have been registered for Chardham Yatra till June 4th and officially 20 lakh pilgrims have completed their Chardham Yatra this year till now. Due to suffocation or some other reasons 119 Pilgrims died in the last 45 days. The weather continued to be normal in May, but officials are expecting more harsher rains this year.
A maximum of 7.13 lakh pilgrims visited Baba Kedarnath so far. To control the crowded government has cancelled offline registrations. The offline registration is cancelled till June 15th. Daily more than 60,000 people visit, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham (Chardham Yatra).
On April 22nd, on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya, Gangotri and Yamunotri were opened for devotees. After the pandemic, this year's pilgrims number is to be expected more than any year before.
For more flexible travel, to connect the four places Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, the Supreme Court has ordered to allow the road width to 10 meters, however, a committee restricted it to 5.5 meters claiming as an assault on the Himalayas.
