The former chief minister of Karnataka and Janata Dal (JDU) leader HD Kumaraswamy was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday after complaining of weakness and discomfort at around 03:40 AM. He was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Jayanagar, Banglore.

The 63-year-old Kumaraswamy has undergone two heart surgeries before and is also a diabetic. He had a mild stroke on Wednesday. Currently, he is under observation and doing fine.

Dr Govindaiah Yatheesh, Vice President and Unite head of Apollo Hospitals said that Kumaraswamy was brought to the hospital around 3:40 AM on Wednesday with weakness and discomfort and is under the care of senior consultant neurologist, Dr P Satish Chandra and his team. He also said that Kumaraswamy has responded well to the treatment. Currently, he is in hemodynamically stable, comfortable and under observation.

“We will continue to provide updates on his health conditions as and when there are further developments. Let us collectively send our thoughts and prayers for his swift recovery", wrote hospital in a press release.

HD Kumaraswamy won from Ramanagara constituency in the 2023 Karnataka state assembly elections against Congress leader Iqbal Hussain.
