And while feeling thirsty is just one of the signs that your body is water deprived, there are many other indicators of dehydration, i.e., lack of water in your body.
How water affects our health?
Just like a plant largely depends on water for its growth and nutrition, similarly, our body too needs water to grow and develop. Water helps body to create energy. The energy generated by the water in the cells helps transmit impulses in the nerves. Not just that, water content in the body also influences the functions of the various proteins and enzymes dissolved in it.
Water upkeeps the moisture on the lining of the internal organs of the body. It maintains normal volume and consistency of fluids such as blood and lymph and regulates body temperature.
It flushes out 'toxins' from the body. The body loses up to four litres of water everyday. To replenish the lost amount, it's important to drink equivalent or more water everyday. Drinking less water can lead to a hot of complications including a few embarrassing ones like halitosis, gas, etc.
