Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi was reportedly upset with Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde for extending compromise to Arvind Kejriwal. The compromise from the centre allowed Kejriwal to call off his demonstration, which was a face saver as he called it a victory for AAP.
According to reports, the Prime Minister, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were not consulted before offering the compromise to the Delhi chief minister. Rahul, 43-year-old congress leader, clearly suggested to Shinde that the compromise to Kejriwal should not have happened.
Ajay Maken, Congress spokesperson, however denied that there was any disagreement between Shinde and Rahul over the handling of Kejriwal demonstration.
Shinde and the the Delhi Police were the twin targets of Arvind Kejriwal during the two-day dharna, which had created traffic nightmares and also prevented security sanitization required before the Republic Day celebration in central Delhi.
AAP was demanding the suspension of five police officials, who refused to conduct raid on a building that was allegedly a drug and prostitution ring.
