The Border Security Force (BSF) has foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LOC) in Rajouri district of Jammu & Kashmir and gunned down a terrorist

According to the officials the incident occurred around midnight, when the BSF troops deployed along the LOC in Keri sector of Rajouri detected a suspicious movement in the area.

Officials said troops exchanged heavy firing for about thirty minutes and then the shooting went silent from the other side.

Force conducted search operations in the early morning, while the body of the terrorist was recovered along with an AK-47, six loaded magazines and a monocular night vision device from the neighboring country Pakistan.

They also recovered a black bag containing another loaded AK magazine, dry fruits and juice, officials said.

They added that it was understood that the remaining terrorists took advantage of the undulating hilly ground and forest and retreated to their side. An infiltration bid was foiled by alert troops.
