The Legislative Assembly elections were held in Delhi on the 8th of February, 2020 which was to elect the seventy members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The results are to be declared today and the counting is in process with Aam Admi Party in the lead with 55 seats and the next up is Bharatiya Janata Party with 17 seats, according to the Election Commission figures.

The counting of the votes is taking place across the city at around 21 centers.

However, the situation is nail- biting and the result can be unpredictable but the predictions as of now say that Arvind Kejriwal is set to return as the Chief Minister with a massive lead over its closest rival in Delhi.

It has been observed that the Delhi- based party is trailing in at least twenty seats that it had won in the elections in the year 2015.

The exit polls have predicted another term for the Aam Admi Party which is led by Arvind Kejriwal turning it to be the ruling party for the third consecutive time which had managed to win 67 seats in the 2015 polls.

The Aam Admi Party that is currently in ruling has sought in retaining power on the work that has been done in the fields of education, health and in providing cheap electricity and water. The Bharatiya Janata Party which is the main opposition party has conducted massive campaign with the inclusion of its 70 union ministers and 270 MPs and leaders and Chief Ministers from several different states in order to deliver its campaign message on the protests that have been conducted regarding the anti- CAA and nationalism.

The present Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has asked the party volunteers not to burst crackers as it would affect the climate by causing air pollution.

However, the Congress party which ruled Delhi for fifteen years has failed to open its account until 11:50 am.

The Delhi election in this year had been held on Saturday i.e., 8th of February and it has been recorded that around 62.59 per cent of the voters in the city of Delhi have come out and exercised their vote which is a democratic right of each and every citizen.
