A Phone call that lasted for two hours between Chinese Foreign Minister and Ajit Doval has brought a tremendous change in the India China face-off that’s being continuing for months.

Since two months, the situation along LAC has been volatile and has been causing tensions among the officials.

However, both the countries have started showing signs of disengagement along the Galwan valley after a two hour telephonic communication which resulted in both the troops moving behind the PP14 area where the clash happened.

Just two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited Ladakh, Indian National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval and China’s state counselor and Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, had a conversation with each other on measures to curb the tensions that are prevailing in the Galwan valley.

Upon the conversation, the Chinese troops from People’s Liberation Army (PLA) have removed their tents at PP14 in eastern Ladakh region, the exact place where the deadly clash took place between the two countries which led to the loss of 20 valuable lives of Indian soldiers.

The talks between the two security advisors have had a deep impact. A need was felt to reach a consensus for a solution after 3 rounds of talks.

In Galwan, 20 Indian soldiers along with a security officier have been killed by the clashes while, Chinese government has not revealed its casualties but they have faced losses.

Sources claim that People’s Liberation Army troops have were seen removing tents and vehicles were also been moved back in Galwan, Gogra and Hot Springs.

However, this is only the first phase of disengagement between the countries and remaining areas would be taken up gradually by field commanders.

Though the troops are seen moving back 8kms from the site, there is still presence of troops from India and China close to the confrontation area but the numbers are less when compared to before.

While there’s some good news after 2 months at Galwan valley, Pangong Tso is yet to witness disengagement. A 2 to 3 km retreat near the Pangong Lake would not be sufficient for India as India claims LAC at finger 8 and a 2 km retreat would mean till finger 4 itself.

The 2-hour long talk between Ajit Doval and Wang was to ensure complete restoration of peace and tranquility in accordance with the protocols and agreements.
