Police Opened Tear Gas and Water Cannons To Control The Outraging Farmers At Delhi Border

Indian Police using tear gas in rounds and water cannons on farmers to stop the march at New Delhi border.The action of police is stop the farmers from entering the city.

The farmer groups from Punjab reached near to Delhi borders crossing the heavy security. They borke the police barricades in Haryana while they marched roaring “Delhi Chalo”.

The farmer groups marched from other states, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, Karnataka. They were stopped by police at several points including U.P border with Rajasthan and Haryana.

Police closed many border points in view of farmer protest and that led to traffic crisis. Delhi Traffic Poilice said, Dhnasa and Jharoda Kalan borders were restricted for traffic movement as the demonstrators and commuters were asked to take an alternative route.

The farmer protest is against the government’s new farm laws. Central Government passed three new bills for a possibility of selling their products directly to private buyers and to sign contracts with private companies. The new farm law is in views to increase the private sector investments.

The Congress party leader, Rahul Gandhi said Modi government is “making farmers slaves” of the capitalists.

Modi government defends the new laws saying that the Indian farmers were held by various constraints and bullied by middlemen. The bills are to liberate the farmers from such diversions.
