Delhi special cell arrests Iqbal Singh in Red Fort violence case

The Indian farmers have been protesting against the introduced farm laws and are protesting from over two months. A grand tractor rally was planned on Republic Day eve but it turned out to be violent. A bunch of protestors reached the Red Fort and caused violent situations across the region. The Delhi cops withdrew all the additional police force that are deployed at the borders of New Delhi. The farmers are camping from the past two months and are protesting. The Delhi cops are now asked to get back to their respective units and districts.

A Delhi special cell arrested Iqbal Singh, the key planner and accused in the Red Fort violence case. A reward of Rs 50,000 was announced on him. Iqbal Singh was identified through a video byte that was released on Facebook and he was taken into custody from Punjab's Hoshiyarpur. The investigation is currently on. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra flew to Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh to attend the Kisan Mahapanchayat that will take place today. BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri told that the protestors are not farmers and they are the men that got paid by the Chief Ministers of three states.

Punjab CM Amarinder Singh said that the leading BJP is facing spontaneous anger from the farmers as the process is delayed. The Supreme Court asked the government of India to form a committee and finalize the plan after initiating the talks with the farmers. Earlier to this, the farmer unions met the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to discuss about the amendments but the talks failed. The Farmer Unions slammed the Centre for playing politics against the farmers.
