Latest updates on Maharashtra Political Crisis

The Maharashtra politics took a sudden turn after 40 MLAs turned rebels. The government is short of the majority and there are discussions going on about what happens next. Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut today said that half of the rebel MLAs are in touch with the party and they are confident that they would return back. He said that the party never considered them as rebels. He asked Devendra Fadnavis, the leader of the opposition party in the state not to involve in the crisis. He said that the name of BJP and Narendra Modi will get tarnished if they behave so. Sanjay Raut has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in relation with a money laundering case and he sought more time to appear for the investigation before the agency because of the ongoing crisis.

The Supreme Court granted more time for the party rebels to file their response for the disqualification notices. The Shiv Sena is now in plans to approach the Governor and inform him so that they can withdraw their support from MVA and go ahead with the floor test. Shiv Sena rebels can avoid the disqualification under the anti-defection law. Through this law, a member of the legislature can be disqualified from their political party voluntarily. The rebel leader Eknath Shinde has a clean strategy to approach the Governor and head for a floor test. The leaders of Eknath Shinde will meet Governor Bhagat Koshyari at the Raj Bhavan very soon. They will discuss about Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) distancing from Shiv Sena.
