Prime Minister Narendra Modi's new workplace is nearly complete, and he plans to move there this week on Makar Sankranti, January 14. The new location, called the 'Seva Teerth' complex, was constructed as a part of the Central Vista Redevelopment Project. This complex is meant to hold the Prime Minister's Office, the Cabinet Secretariat, and the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), each having its own building. The new building for the PMO is referred to as 'Seva Teerth-1'. It features up-to-date work areas and impressive ceremonial rooms, embodying the idea of 'service' (seva). The PMO's move signifies the conclusion of a significant period; it has been situated in the South Block since India gained independence in 1947. 'Seva Teerth 2' has already been taken over by the Cabinet Secretariat, which moved there in September last year, while 'Seva Teerth-3' will house the office of the National Security Advisor.

After the move, the South and North Blocks will be transformed into a public museum named 'Yuge Yugeen Bharat Sangrahalaya'. An agreement was finalized on December 19, 2024, with France’s Museum Development Agency to provide technical support for creating the museum. The full Seva Teerth site, also called the Executive Enclave, is being constructed at a cost of Rs 1,189 crore by Larsen & Toubro and spans 2,26,203 sq ft. A new official house for the Prime Minister, temporarily called "Executive Enclave Part 2", is also being built nearby. This move aligns with Prime Minister Modi's goal of moving away from colonial remnants. His administration previously changed the name of New Delhi's famous Rajpath to Kartavya Path. In broader efforts to modernize government workspaces and enhance efficiency in administration and governance, new Common Central Secretariat (CCS) buildings are being developed to bring together various ministries that are currently spread out across different areas of Delhi. One of these buildings, Kartavya Bhawan, opened in August last year and is already accommodating several ministries.
