Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will address a press conference today to explain the steps taken by UPA-II government to boost economic growth, and also on what has been done to curb inflation and corruption. Speculation is also rife in media that the Singh will step down to make way for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. However, the Prime Minister's Office(PMO) has denied that any such announcements will be made at the press conference.

During the press conference the PM will outline the achievements as well as the unfinished agenda of UPA-II covering areas in politics, economy and foreign affairs. The press conference will be attended by 250 media persons at the National Media Centre that was inaugurated recently.

In the 10 years tenure as PM, this is Singh's third full-fledged press conference and second in UPA-II. However, the PM has held on board interactions with mediapersons during his foreign visits. India's information and broadcasting minister Manish Tewari will also be present at the press conference with prime minister Manmohan Singh.
