The Maharashtra government has been ordered a thoroughly investigation into Islamic preacher Zakir Naik’s speeches, that were alleged to have inspired the Dhaka attackers for the act of terror. Home minister Rajnath Singh also assured to take “appropriate action” against him.

Mr. Naik “totally disagreed” the allegation on him that he inspired the terror act in Dhaka.

“There is not a single talk of mine where I encouraged one to kill another, whether Muslim or non-Muslim,” Mr. Naik said.

The state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, said that, “I have asked the Mumbai Police Commissioner to conduct a probe (into Naik’s speeches) and submit a report.”  Everything, including Mr. Naik’s speeches, sources of funding of his foundation , his social media accounts, will be scrutinized, he added.

“We have taken cognizance of Zakir Naik’s speeches and have given necessary instructions for a probe. A thorough investigation will be done.” “CDs of his speeches are being examined,” Home minister Rajnath Singh said.

“As far as government is concerned, we will not compromise on terrorism at any cost. Whatever is justified will be done,” Singh said.
